The Gift

​Some might say a miracle...my heart says..."a gift"
Praying for hope and miracles we got this wondrous gift
This mighty heart the doctors sought...
This donor's gift, so dearly bought

Five women who love Lee best, waited for the dawn
While an Alaska family had found all hope was gone
Still, in the midst of pain and grief, this family gave their best
The gift of life...a precious heart now in my brother's chest

This mighty heart is full of life...and not a moment's wasted
Savoring life, determined to live it, Lee honors he who gave it
The gracious donor family is in our thoughts each day
We'll thank them always...far more than words can say
